M.Tech./M.E./Master's Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 60% marks. Preference will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidates. Candidates can apply only in one department.
From a recognized Indian University Science / Engineering / Technology with a degree in MBA (two year course) by the AICTE approved PGDM from recognized institutes (two year course) but the institute is to provide 'PGDM course' by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to MBA have been approved.
All candidates shall have to appear for Research Entrance Test (RET) to be organized by NIFTEM in its campus followed by interview for the candidates who qualify RET. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of RET (70% weightage) and interview (30% weightage). Due weightage will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidates.The RET shall consist of seventy (70) objective type questions of one mark each. The duration of the test will be one hour. The test shall consist of two parts. Part-A shall contain twenty (20) questions to test the Mental Agility, English and General Knowledge of the candidate. Part-B shall contain fifty (50) questions to test candidate`s technical background in their eligibility areas. There shall be negative marking, and for each wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted and the merit would be prepared by combining the scores of RET and Interview. As mentioned earlier, due weightage will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidates for preparation of merit list.
For foreign nationals admission is based directly upon the merit and the applicants do not have to appear in the Entrance Test and Interview.
