SC/ST Cell

National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) has been set up by Deemed to be University (De-novo Category) under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. NIFTEM is committed to provide an environment that promotes diversity and respects everyone regardless of color, religious belief or culture. While maintaining diversity of all kinds, the Institute also commits to ensuring protection of everyone including minorities and acting as per the provisions of the Constitution of India in such matters. In order to create a living and working environment where all students feel safe and respected, an SC/ST Cell has been established with the approval of the Board of Management in the 27th Meeting held on 12/06/2018.

Objectives:

  • To counsel and guide SC/ST students studying at NIFTEM on various issues and help them to manage academic and personal demands of a university life effectively.

  • To ensure provisions for an environment where all such students/teachers/non-teaching staff feel safe and secure.

  • To provide prompt counseling for any emotional emergencies arising on account of any events at the campus.

  • To provide a mechanism to redress the grievances of SC/ST students/teachers/non-teaching staff.

  • To ensure protection and reservation as provided in the constitution of India.

  • To arrange for special opportunities to enhance the career growth of these students/teachers/non-teaching staff such as through Competitive Examinations.
