Q1: Is CFRA an accredited laboratory for
regulatory compliance?
A: Yes. CFRA is a fully accredited facility under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by NABL
(Certificate No. TC-4009) for both Chemical and Biological disciplines. Additionally, we are
a notified laboratory under FSSAI and an accredited laboratory under APEDA for the export
of organic and processed food products.
Q2: What is the difference between your roles
as a Primary, Referral and Reference
Laboratory?
A:
Primary Lab: We conduct routine analysis for food safety and quality certification
for industry and regulatory compliance.
Referral Lab: As a Referral Laboratory notified by FSSAI, we act as an appellate
authority for dispute resolution and re-testing of samples.
Reference Lab: We serve as National Reference lab for Fortified food and method
development/ Verification/ validation, helping to set standards or protocols for the
Fortified Food.
Q3: What types of products and parameters can
we test at CFRA?
A: We cover a massive scope of over 4,500 parameters across almost all food categories
including Cereals and Pulses, Oil and Fat , Fruit and Vegetables, Dairy, Spices, Meat,
Water, and
Beverages. Our testing capabilities range from basic nutritional profiling to high-precision
analysis of Pesticides, Heavy Metals and Mycotoxins.
Q4: Can CFRA reports be used for Export
consignments?
A: Yes. CFRA is recognized by APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export
Development Authority). Our test reports for products like rice, peanuts, grapes and organic
testing are valid for export compliance to meet international regulatory standards.
How can I submit a sample for testing?
A: You can submit samples directly at our
Sample Cell in CFRA, NIFTEM Kundli, Sonipat, or send them via courier. For specific

Who can avail of CFRA&'s services? Only NIFTEM

A: We are open to everyone. CFRA runs as a commercial facility serving the
entire ecosystem—including private entrepreneurs, large-scale food industries, exporters,
and
government regulators.
Does CFRA offer training for industry
professionals?
A: Yes. We act as a knowledge
Hub providing specialized training and skill upgradation programs. We offer hands-on
workshops on high-end instrumentation (LC-MS/MS, GC-MS), Laboratory Quality
Management Systems (ISO 17025), and food safety regulations for students, industry
professionals, and lab personnel.
